This committee is responsible for creating programming related to student engagement, managing social media and collaborating with individuals that handle BSOS communication.

Alexis Leslie

Vice-Chair | African American Studies/At-Large Representative

Alexis Leslie is a sophomore majoring in Hearing and Speech Sciences. This is her first year serving as the Vice Chair of Outreach and as an at-large representative for the Dean’s Student Advisory Council (DSAC). Alexis is very excited to collaborate with the outreach committee to foster community within the college, and share resources with students. She is passionate about education policy and language sciences. On campus, Alexis is involved in the FIRE program’s Music & Social Identity stream, a Rawlings Leadership Fellow, and a member of the Treble Choir. After college, she aspires to pursue a master’s in speech language pathology.

Katelyn Keller

Geographical Sciences/At-Large Representative

Kate is a sophomore double majoring in Government and Politics and Philosophy and minoring in International Development and Conflict Management. She is an At-Large Member and it is her first year serving on DSAC. Kate is interested in comparative political science research to further develop understanding of the international system and interaction between individuals and state, allowing for humanitarian development. She is involved in campus life through work, and extracurriculars such a debate. Kate is also an undergraduate TA in Fall of 2025.

Amber Ahyick Wong

Social Data Science/At-Large Representative

Amber Ahyick Wong is a senior majoring in Psychology and Criminology & Criminal Justice. This is her first year serving on DSAC as an At-Large Representative and she is excited to work with the outreach committee to connect with and bring visibility to BSOS students. Outside of DSAC, Amber is a Desk Operations Supervisor with UMD Reslife and an intern with the Maryland Alliance for Justice Reform. She has also worked at a child family therapy clinic with Kennedy Krieger Institute. After graduation, Amber plans to pursue a master’s degree in Counseling and hopes to work in the field of therapy.
