Programming Committee
This committee plans, organizes and manages all of DSAC’s events. The committee plans at least one major event each semester, such as the Student Faculty Dinner, and collaborates with the Dean’s Office Staff to make reservations for campus buildings or virtual webinars.
Ibhade Akhabue
Vice-Chair | At-Large and African-American and Africana Studies Representative
Ibhade Akhabue is a senior double majoring in Criminology & Criminal Justice and Finance. It is her second year on the council, and she previously was a member of the Programming Committee. Her main goal this year to strengthen the sense of what it means to be a BSOS student in regards to community and belonging, as she want students to really feel at home within BSOS. In addition to BSOS DSAC, Ibhade serves on the Central Board of the University Student Judiciary, the Belonging Advisory Council at the Smith School, and an Honors Ambassador as a Team Captain with the Honors College.

Varsha Prasad
At-Large and Geographical Sciences Representative
Varsha Prasad is a junior double majoring in Criminology/Criminal Justice and Public Policy. This is her first year working as an At-Large Representative on the Dean’s Student Advisory Council. Varsha is passionate about providing community and mental health spaces on campus and looks forward to hosting events to connect students with the resources that BSOS offers. Outside of DSAC, Varsha is an active member of Kappa Omega Alpha, serving on both the Branding & Communications and Philanthropy & Service committees. She is also an Undergraduate Ambassador for the School of Public Policy.

Simon Wong
At-Large and University Senate Representative
Simon Wong is a junior majoring in Government and Politics and Public Policy, with a minor in History. This is his first year being the University Senate representative on DSAC. Simon is a member of the Programming Committee and is excited to plan some of the biggest DSAC events of the year. Outside of BSOS, Simon is a member of the Catholic Terps, The Humble Walk, the UMD College Democrats, and he also works for Student Entertainment Events (SEE).
