May 2025 – DSAC Senior Shoutouts

We are so incredibly proud of the DSAC Class of 2025! Here’s a page dedicated to them and the great things they will be doing post-graduation!

“I will forever be grateful for my peers and teachers who made this experience so valuable for my academic and personal journey. Being able to voice student concerns, come up with the law lecture series, and have students benefit from it was my most rewarding achievement in these past two years on DSAC.”

Allison Heija Li

Plans After Graduation: Working in higher education then grad school!

“DSAC was one of the best way to spend my Tuesday evenings. I will miss the Cydney-isms!”

Sonyah Ngwafang

Vice-Chair of Programming | PSYC Representative | Psychology and Criminology and Criminal Justice

Plans After Graduation: I’m taking a gap year to work in the field and get experience before pursuing a PhD in Clinical Psychology.

“DSAC gave me so many opportunities to grow as a leader, foster community in the college, and to meet people I never would’ve crossed paths with before. I have so many amazing DSAC memories and I can’t wait to see what the future council does!”

Ana Sofia Paz

Student Services Committee | At-Large Representative | Economics and Government and Politics, International Relations Concetration

Plans After Graduation: Work full time at Walter E. Washington Convention Center.

“I’m extremely grateful for the opportunity to have been part of the DSAC BSOS cohort. Being part of DSAC allowed me to be involved in ways that as a transfer student I didn’t even fathom. The whole idea of proposing ideas to improve our college was daunting, but the support from my colleagues and faculty equipped me with confidence and guidance to execute these initiatives. Aside from the initiatives themselves, DSAC allowed me to meet my colleagues, who are very different from me, but inspire me to be a better version of myself. Joining DSAC was honestly one of the best experiences I had as an undergraduate, and I’m really thankful for it.”

Cydney Simmons

Chair | CCJS Representative | Criminology and Criminal Justice

Plans After Graduation: I’ll be attending the University of Maryland Baltimore to pursue my master’s in social work with a clinical concentration.

“DSAC has been such a transformative opportunity for me. Not only have a grown as a leader but as a person, who is dedicated to advocacy and problem solving. I will never forget the laughs I have shared with my council and the hard work and dedication we put forth to make BSOS better. I am going to miss DSAC so so so much but, I will always hold this organization very near and dear to my heart. Thank you for everything! <3”
